We’re all aware of the economic situation within the United States, currently being in a recession stage. Many companies are laying off employee’s in hopes to keep profits up.
One major thing that these major corporate giants are failing to realize is that when they lay off employees, they’re hurting the economy. The more unemployed there are within a country, the less money that can be spent and definitely the less than the company owners and CEO’s can make in their own pockets. In the long run and in the end, it hurts not just the businesses, but the economy as a whole.
Earlier in December, AT&T laid off 500 thousand agents, mostly from their already overworked call centers. These call centers aren’t just from Corporate AT&T call center locations, but from other third party call centers such as West Customer Management Group LLC as well.
In the efforts to save money and to help line the pockets of big wig CEO’s and board member pockets, big wigs will hurt the economy with massive lay offs such as this.
In order to help the economy, we honestly have to do something else. Big wigs need to spend more than save as there’s no reasonable and honest reason why someone should have to be able to live in a giant mansion and be able to afford a new pool lined with solid gold and studded with pure diamonds. More workers need hired by these major corporations and definitely need to start paying their employee’s better.
AT&T isn’t the only culprite in messing up the economy, Wal-Mart doesn’t help at all grossing $195 a minute in the 2007 Fiscal Year and still paying their employee’s below the poverty line. Hopefully, the future leaders meeting at the GOP Summit, can figure out how to get our world economy back on track.
